KAT’S LIFE LESSONS FROM A WOMAN’S HEART
You can NEVER tell your young adult that they are acting all grown up enough times! Similarly, you can never tell them that they will ALWAYS be your BABY enough times either (they love to hear both!)
No matter where you travel, the smells of nature in your own town always seem the purest on earth.
When you are younger, parties and dresses, best friends and boys, seem the most fulfilling; when you are older porch swings and yard flowers, rivers and the old man beside you, seem the most fulfilling.
Men will NEVER fully understand women, and women will NEVER fully understand men…(we can only make decent guesses based on behaviors observed).
Books and study are a good thing, counsel and fellowship are invaluable, but the persistent and diligent exercising of love will eventually find EVERYTHING out
You weeding the garden and him tinkering in the garage in the same yard, at the same address, at the same time, could very well be the most secure feeling on the planet.
When you are older lost dreams become avenues for new and exciting adventures.
God created many different animals of many different colors and textures and we endlessly adore and coddle them all, enchanted by the variety, but when it comes to people, we most often prefer the ones with our same skin color (tut tut tut).
Underneath our skin color we all bleed the same red blood.
Why doesn’t God let us have the exuberance of youth and the wisdom of old age all at the same time? (seriously, I would have ruled the world).
The older I get, the more amazing irrigation systems seem (and home renovations, and the Jesus Christ lizard).
A youthful body (male or female) is a sight to behold! God is a TRUE artist.
A person on the change is a person with brains. Always, always, always open yourself up to learning new things, grasping new concepts, and trying to become a better person.
Really good friends are the ones you know you can call at 2 a.m with a crisis.
In so many ways, Momma was right.
We have an odd measurement of sin in the church today; having a glass of wine, saying a curse word, and missing a Sunday appear more grievous than arrogance, greed, or gluttony. Additionally, the addiction to cigarettes appears more dire than the addiction to caffeine.
Surround yourself with the simple things in life: where possible, keep siblings, children, nieces, nephews, parents, grandparents, in-laws and good friends near enough to visit often; Don’t desire a big, exquisite house, but a house that feels like home and is instantly comfortable and welcoming to all who enter; A walk and a talk with a trusted friend or loved one has more lasting value than a ride in a Lamborghini. Learn the entire process of how to press fall leaves.
If you have a gift from God, quickly use it to bring joy to, and help to others, or it will be lost.
The decision to make Jesus the Lord of your life ultimately is not an intellectual decision. Either you believe Him (have faith) or you don’t. Everything else is just a smoke screen. Please don’t ask me to prove to you that Jesus existed historically because even though I can, that’s not what is hanging you up on this one
Make the most of every day!
